| What is the duration of a student visa? |
The visa is issued for the duration of the course you have enrolled for . You are permitted to arrive 28 days before your course starts, but cannot work till you commence your studies. The visa permits you to stay up to 28 days after your course is completed.

| What documents do you require to submit to secure an offer letter from a educational Provider? |
A completed and signed application form, copy of passport, latest academic transcripts with certificate, ielts results.

| Are Australian Education Providers accredited? |
Yes . Providers must be licensed by the Australian Government to teach International Students.

| Are the courses Internationally recognized? |
The Australian education system is compatible with both the United States & the United Kingdom.
International standards of education are adhered to and are usually transferable to overseas institutions.
Recognition will be advised on a provider to provider basis, likewise with commercial acceptance.

| What levels of education are available in Australia? |
Student World represents providers from High School to private Business colleges, TAFE and Universities, offering School Leaving certificate, Diplomas. Undergraduate, Post graduate and Doctorate qualifications.

| What are the Academic and English levels required to study in Australia? |
A successful completion of 12 school years is required to enroll in a Diploma or undergraduate program. It is possible to do a one year course if 11 successful school years have been completed. The following IELTS levels are required in the respective areas of education:
Diploma level 5.5
Under graduate 6.0
Post graduate 6.5
TEEFOL scores are not acceptable in Australia.

| Does Student World represent educational institutions around Australia? |
Yes. From Perth to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane,Gold Coast, Cairns and some regional areas.

| Can a Student Work? |
20 hours of work is permitted during school term and unlimited during the 3 months of holiday through the year.

| Is class attendance compulsory? |
No, but the visa conditions require students to achieve a minimum 50% pass mark. Providers must report to DIAC should your results fall below this mark over a period of time. Each provider sets their own standards within the framework of the law. Failure can lead to your visa being withdrawn.

| What about dependant visas? |
To secure a dependant visa it must be proven that the couple have lived together for a period of 12 months, joint rent receipts, bank accounts etc must be shown. The dependant ( over 18 yrs) can work 20 hours per week
|
| Can we change courses and educational providers? |
Students are required to stay with the original provider for a minimum period of 6 months. DIAC will permit a change based on an acceptable reason.

| Cancellation and Refunds |
It is recommended that students read the providers rules and regulations before signing the contract. In most cases refunds are not available once the student starts the course.
|
| Protection for Overseas Students |
The ESOS Framework offers consumer protection for overseas students. More information in the visa section.

| Health Insurance |
It is compulsory for a student visa holder and the dependant to have medical insurance. There is a choice of policies available. Ask you SW counselor.
