Airport Pick Up

Instructions for new students requiring pickup from Sydney Airport

  • Make sure that you have all information you need about your accommodation before you leave your country. You should have the accommodation's address and phone number, and a few details about the place.
  • Don't bring any food, plant or animal material into Australia. If you try to do this, the material will be taken from you by the Australian Customs officials and it will delay your entry to Australia.
  • If you are under 18 or you have applied to go to high school in Australia, you must have a guardian until you complete Year 12. Make sure you know who will be your guardian in Australia. Also, you should know that you cannot change any guardian or living arrangements without prior permission from the Student Service Officer at your school.
  • You should make sure that you pay the first 4 weeks of accommodation fees directly to your host family manager shortly after your arrival at their house. At the end of the 2nd week, you must start paying 2 weeks fees every 2 weeks. You must give 2 weeks notice before you move out of the homestay.
  • Airport Meet and Greet
    • The Student World representative will be waiting for you at the arrival gate, with your name prominently displayed
    • Please look for your name card as the arrival area is usually crowded
    • If you are unable to locate the Student World representative please sit in the arrival area. We will find you. Do not leave the arrival hall.
    • Emergency numbers are 0417 230 261 or 9290 2366
    • The Student World representative will drop you to your accomodation as soon as possible. There may be multiple drop offs which will be arranged in order of geographical area.
  • If you do not require airport pickup, please make sure that you contact your host family manager to tell them what time you will be arriving at the homestay. If you do not plan to go directly to the homestay, you must give the host family a contact phone number so that they can call you to check where you are in Sydney.
